Emergency assistance cover
Emergency assistance cover provides landlords with peace of mind
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This cover can
be purchased as part of our landlord insurance policy or as a stand-alone
product.
What's covered?
- Plumbing and drainage - Sudden damage to the
drains or plumbing system in your home including from blockage,
breakage or flooding
- Main heating system - The sudden failure to
function of the central heating system in your home
- Domestic power supply - The failure of the
domestic electricity, or domestic gas supply, but not the failure
of the mains supply
- Toilet unit - Impact damage to, or mechanical
failure of, the toilet bowl or cistern in your home that results in
complete loss of the unit's function
- Home security - Damage to, or the failure of,
external doors, windows or locks, compromising the security of your
home
- Lost keys - The loss of the only available set
of keys to your home if you cannot replace them, or gain normal
access
- Vermin - The removal of any vermin from inside
the property , including rodents and insects
- Roof damage - Any damage to the roof of your
home where internal damage has been caused or is likely (Emergency
PLUS cover only)
How do I make a claim?
To make a claim simply call the emergency assistance hotline on
0800 876 6705 (24 hours) and give your name,
address and the nature of your emergency. Once your emergency cover
has been confirmed, an approved contractor will be assigned to
assist you.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an excess to each claim?
There is a minimum excess of £100 per claim, however you can
choose to increase the excess and reduce the cost of your cover
when you set it up.
How many times can you claim in a year?
Like most insurance products, there is no limit on the number of
claims you can make in a year, however multiple claims may affect
the cost of renewing the policy.
Is malicious damage by tenants covered?
Yes, malicious damage to the building structure is covered.
Does the policy cover student and DSS tenants?
Yes.
