Tips and advice for chauffeurs
Private Hire versus Public Hire Insurance
Private Hire is the common term for the carriage of passengers
for hire &/or reward whereby the work is pre booked. ‘Private
hire’, ‘chauffeur hire’ and ‘hire and reward’ all mean the same
thing in the insurance world ie. the transport is pre-booked.
Public Hire is very different. It is not pre-booked and tends to
relate to taxis which operate from a taxi rank and London black
cabs.
